Fun Fact:
Garett Hickling is a wheelchair rugby legend. He was an All Star at the first 3 World Championships in the sport’s history, has competed in every Paralympics that wheelchair rugby has been included in, and was even a flag bearer at the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Paralympic Games. This May, he will become the first wheelchair rugby player to be inducted into the B.C. Sports Hall of Fame. Though Garett is from British Columbia, he took his game to the next level in 2010 by moving to Ontario to train with David Willsie. The move allowed Garett to develop a love of coaching and he was instrumental in starting a new team in Toronto. Today, Garett is the Ontario High Performance Talent ID coach for Wheelchair Rugby Canada: a position that allows him to share his decades of knowledge with tomorrow’s up-and-coming stars.
