Trevor Hirschfield Named the IPC Allianz Athlete of the Month

Congratulations to Trevor Hirschfield on being named the IPC Allianz Athlete of the Month. Trevor received the honour for leading Canada’s wheelchair rugby team to its first gold medal in 13 years at the Toronto 2015 Parapan American Games.

“We are so grateful to everyone who voted for Trevor and spread the word via social media,” said Canadian Wheelchair Sports Association CEO Cathy Cadieux. “We always say that wheelchair rugby fans are the best in the world, and we think this proves it!”

The award caps off a memorable week for Hirschfield, who got married on Saturday. Don’t expect this hard-working athlete to take a long honeymoon. He’s currently training for the BT World Wheelchair Rugby Challenge 2015, which will take place from Oct. 12 – 16 at the Copper Box Arena in London.
