Canadian Wheelchair Rugby Athletes Win 2013 Swiss Low-Point Challenge

Canadian wheelchair rugby national team members Patrice Dagenais, Patrice Simard and Byron Green teamed up with Guillaume Bouchard and former national team member Jared Funk to win the 2013 Swiss Low Point Challenge tournament in Notwill, Switzerland last weekend.

The team, called Project Mayhem, secured the gold medal with a 37-29 win. For their efforts, both Patrice Simard and Patrice Dagenais won Best In Class Awards.

The Swiss Low Point Challenge attracts the best low-point wheelchair rugby athletes from around they world. It provides an opportunity for low-point players to play roles usually reserved for high-pointer athletes and has a fun, social atmosphere.

With only five athletes on the roster, Project Mayhem athletes got plenty of playing time and relied on their team cohesion to earn them the gold medal. After their win, they took some time off to tour Switzerland and enjoy some well-earned relaxation.

Congratulations to Project Mayhem athletes!
