Garett Hickling a Finalist for Ontario's Athlete With a Disability of the Year

Congratulations to Garett Hickling, who was named a finalist for the Ontario Athlete with a Disability of the Year award.

Garett is no stranger to winning awards. He was named MVP at the first three Wheelchair Rugby World Championships and was Canada's flag bearer at the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Paralympic Games. This year, Garett's leadership was crucial to Canada's silver-medal performance in London. In the final seconds of the exciting semi-final match against the number-one-ranked USA, he worked with Mike Whitehead to steal the ball from Chuck Aoki. Garett scored the final point with seconds to spare, sending Canada into the gold medal game.

The winners will be announced at a gala event on April 18th in Toronto. For more information on the award, please click here.
