Changing lives, one hit at a time
Since 1967, the Canadian Wheelchair Sports Association has helped Canadians with disabilities experience the life-changing benefits of wheelchair sports. Today, we're proud to be the National Sport Organization for wheelchair rugby and an advocate for wheelchair sports nationwide. Our programs include:
- The Bridging the Gap program, which introduces people with disabilities across Canada to a variety of wheelchair sports;
- The Podium Club program, which helps wheelchair rugby clubs across Canada flourish;
- The Canadian Wheelchair Rugby Championships, where champions are made and clubs go head-to-head.
- The Canadian national team, which has a long history of excellence.
We've grown wheelchair rugby from a sport called 'Murderball' invented in a gym in Winnipeg into one of the most popular parasports in the world. There is still more work to be done. We need your help to ensure that every Canadian has the opportunity to gain strength, indepedence and confidence through wheelchair rugby. With your support, we can change lives!
