Summer is often a good reason for travelling. Leaving your home when you have to catheterize requires that you make some extra preparations for both your journey and stay. Here are some things to make your trip much easier.
Pack Smart and Plan Ahead
When you’re away from home, it’s a good idea to make sure you have a little extra of everything —just in case. Consider the different environments you will encounter during your travels. Whether you enjoy nature, power shopping or delving into fine arts at a museum, make sure you bring enough of your supplies and accessories to suit each situation.
Long trips can be a challenge. SpeediCath® Compact Set Catheters are great for travelling, as they don’t take up much space in your bag. SpeediCath Compact Set is a compact and discreet catheter and bag solution that is instantly ready to use, which is a great alternative to limited access to washrooms

Pack a “smart kit” - What to pack for when you’re away from home
When you are away from home you may want to bring more than just your catheters to ensure that you can catheterize in a safe and convenient way regardless of the bathroom facilities.
Ideas for what you could pack - depending on your needs:
- Catheters (always pack extra)
- Extra underwear and maybe extra pants
- Disposable gloves
- Wet wipes/ towelettes
- Antibacterial gel or hand wash
- Handheld mirror
- Plastic bags (for used accessories, used catheters or wet garments)
- Pads- an absorbent pad or liner in case of unexpected leakage
- A bottle of water (if traveling by plane, buy this after you go through security)
Paper towels or tissues
